| Cortes is a modern and functional very centrally located Hotel on a pedestrian side street off Las Ramblas and just a 5-minute walk from the Gothic quarter and Cathedral. The Cortes was originally built around 1910 and, like many of its competitors in Barcelona, was thoroughly renovated in time for the 1992 Olympics. Guest rooms are over five floors, and about half overlook a quiet central courtyard (the other half open onto the street). The hotel's ground floor contains a simple, unpretentious restaurant and bar, where breakfast is served and where you can enjoy a beer throughout the day and night. Bright neat reception has small simply furnished TV lounge. Typical local-style bar. Functional breakfast room. Pleasant long narrow restaurant. Air-conditioned bedrooms are pleasantly decorated with TV, radio, direct-dial phones. A good value for money hotel with an inviting atmosphere. |
