We stayed in Hotel Flor Parks in October 2000. It is very centrally situated right in the heart of the Ramblas. The bar and restaurant areas are bright and clean with an exceptional display of all kinds of Tapas. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated although just slightly dark because of their city centre location and the narrow gothic streets behind the hotel. The staff were extremely efficient courteous and friendly towards our party of ten weekend visitors and they seemed genuinely disappointed whenever we left the hotel to go out for the evening. A highlight for us, although it was probably not striclty allowed, was when one of the waiters sat and had a drink along with us (at our insistence of course) even though he could not speak any english, and our Spanish was poor to say the least. Hand signals and smiles were the order of the day. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip there, not only for the hotel itself but for it's proximity to all the delights that Barcelona has to offer. We are returning again in October 2003 to meet and enjoy the hosiptality of our friends at Flor Parks. One word of warning about Barcelona though - LADIES WATCH YOUR BAGS in the narrow streets off the Ramblas. They have the most brazen bag snatchers I have ever seen. We were targeted twice in short succession.
