Vielen Dank für Ihre Hotelempfehlung. Dieses Hotel liegt wirklich sehr zentral, trotzdem sehr ruhig und war auch in allen anderen Belangen sehr in Ordnung. Was vielleicht nicht so passt ist der Frühstücksraum, der ist für die Zahl der Gäste eindeutig zu klein. Das Frühstück gestaltet sich zu einem Schnellimbiss. Leider hatten wir das Pech mit dem Flug ( 5 Stunden Verspätung ) daher entfiel auch das Abendessen. Ich habe aber vom Flughafen angerufen und wir hatten nachts einen Snack im Zimmer. Hervorzuheben ist, dass die Begrüßung um 1/2 2Uhr nachts auch noch sehr freundlich war. Alles in Allem waren es schöne Tage in Barcelona und wir können Barcelona und Ihr Service nur weiterempfehlen. Hotel Gutenberg is very conveniently located near the end of La Rambla. The room was very ergonomic, clean and nice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thanks to the hotel administration

Centrally located which is good. We got a very small and dark double room at a price of EUR 100 per night which we find expensive being Spain. But Barcelona is probably more expensive than other places in Spain. The breakfast is good and tasty.

Be very carefull if you book Hotel Gutenberg in Barcelona, Because some one there robs your bedroom after you double lock. Your Door.

Le séjour à Barcelone s'est très bien déroulé. Nous avons été enchantés de l'Hotel Gutenberg qui correspondait à nos besoins. Il est très bien placé et je l'ai déjà recommandé à plusieurs personnes. Dès notre arrivée, le personnel s'est rapidement occupé de nous et tout était clair. Personnellement en avril 2004, je dois retourner à Barcelone avec une équipe de 5 personnes et je pense vous recontacter pour réserver des chambres. Meilleures salutations.

Hatte noch keine Gelegenheit zürück zu schreiben.Unser Aufenthalt in Barcelona war ein voller Erfolg. Schönes Wetter,ein Hotel das super gelegen,sauber und auch sonst zu diesem Preis sehr günstig ist.(Frühstück war auch gut)! Im Namen unserer Truppe bedanke ich mich noch mal für die Vermittlung und werde euren Dienst natürlich weiter empfehlen. Alles Gute für euch und vielleicht dann irgend wann mal wieder Viele Grüsse

the hotel was everything that you stated , good clean and serviceable, the only fault i had was the surrounding streets which by day were ok but in the evening took on a different charector ie ; drugs , prostutes and unsavoriey charectors.

good clean hotel or apartments which ever , told we would have a double bed and seperet livivg room ,got a small twin bedroom but was cool for a short stay , a bit noisey with the thin walls but what do exspect your on hol, will be coming again thanks ,

what a good hotel very clean and nice bmorning food ok just what you need for the start to the day . regarding dimly lit the streets it cool no trouble or danger what so ever we will be coming again also be carefull on the las Ramblas it nice to walk down but its a rip off for what you bye 16.50 r for 2 small drinks thats Ј12.50 for a beer and a coke so be carefull they rip you off go down the side streets its a lot cheeper and cool

Nice clean hotel, would call it more like an apartment building. Clean though and an ample breakfast. Ideal for Los ramblas. a little noisy on the friday night , but hey we were on holiday.

The hotel is very conveniently located and the rooms were large, very basic, 2 beds not a double but clean. Probably not worth the money. However, our main point is that our short break was absolutely destroyed due to the fact we had drunken English yobs in the room next door. The walls are paper thin, so if you value having at least some sleep I would recommend you look elsewhere. We got very little sleep for two nights and by the time the morons went home, on the third night, we were shattered and just wanted to go home. There were bangs, shouts and rantings from other rooms too, so despite the convenient spot, I'd recommend somewhere else. In retrospect, we would gladly have paid a lot more to stay somewhere relatively relaxing.

Excellent location & price. 1 minute walk to The Ramblas & 5 minutes to the marina. Very clean (towels & bedding changed daily). Rooms basic but adequate. We had apartments so good seating arrangements and full sized fridge (good for keeping the cava chilled)! Small balcony for sitting outside. Staff friendly & helpful. Reasonable self-service buffet breakfast. Would definitely stay again if we return to Barcelona.

A very nice hotel in the center of the city. Only a minutes walk to the Ramblas, close to the beautiful harbour area and also close to the metro.

Great position (5 minutes from Maremagnum, 1 minute from the Rambla), rooms spacious and very very clean, hotel staff very helpful and kind. I really enjoyed my stay at Gutemberg. Breakfast never tasted (sleeping during breakfast, after Barcelona night movida...).I recommend this hotel and will surely stay there next time. We were two girls but felt safely, never had problems.

Very handy spot, check out the Pastis bar round the corner for a late night tipple. Walls a bit thin never up early enough to spot breakfast, staff very helpful. Did'nt realize we were getting an apartment could fitted another two close friends in!

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefØhlt in diesem Hotel. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber, der Service war in Ordnung. Das FrØhstØck war Øber Erwarten gut. Hervorzuheben ist die zentrale Lage in NÄhe von Ramla und Hafen, die man bestens zu Fuñ erreichen kann. Das gilt insbesondere fØr einen Besuch der Altstadt am Abend. Wir wØrden gerne wieder bei unserem nÄchstem Besuch im Hotel Gutenberg wohnen.

I made a good choise to book in your hotel. The accomodation was quit well. My only complain concerns the breakfasts. The choise in food is not what it has to be, and the restaurant is much to small for the total of your guests. So each morning we had to wait till 9:30 before we could go at a(mostly dirty) table.

Probably not three star but the hotel/appartments are very clean and spacious, the staff are very friendly, the breakfast basic but adequate. Having read previous comments on the hotel website we were sceptical when we booked but at no time did we feel threatened and at night the short distance from the metro to the hotel is well lit but beware of men in skirts in the Nayade bar nearby. As for eating out La Fonda restaurant on the Carrer dels Escudellers is excellent but avoid Casa Joan restaurant on La Rambla as the food is ordinary and the wine a rip off.

Very disappointed with is hotel, not a three star, more like a youth hostel, low budget accomadation.Rooms clean but simple , at the time of our stay the rooms we being painted , very strong fumes,restaurant is very simple cafe, also very noisy due to no carpets in the rooms, or hallways.

This hotel is excellent value for money. The studio style rooms are more than adequate for a weekend, its nice to have simple cooking facilities especially if you want to take advantage of the wonderful produce from the market - worth a visit for its sheer size and artistic displays! The hotel location is superb in terms of access to the metro and the waterfront, its easy to get to from anywhere. I can only emphasise the warnings that the back alleys are definitely seedy, OK in daylight but be warned, I was unlucky enough to have my bag snatched in the early evening in a lapse of caution and its a traumatic experience. (But it can happen anywhere these days) Head straight out to the tube across the well lit square where the hotel security man stands and you'll be OK. I have to say that the hotel staff were very concerned and helpful and did all they could to assist. I would stay there again!

Location was great! People were very accommodating and hotel was very clean. Breakfast provided was average for USA - but substandard by European standards. We would probably consider staying there again in the future if we visit Barcelona.

The location is great , but the hotel is not the graetest, It was to expancive for ***, I rate it ** for service. I'm sure better deals can be found.

My first bit of advice is book early we were looking for somewhere cheaper than this hotel however our choices were very limited. That said the hotel is in a very central location however as with other reviews the final route to the hotel are lets say the under belly of Barcelona. It was however very well lit and we did not feel threatened at any time. Look out for the bar on the corner where you will see the worst looking transsexuals that you are likely to come across. I would recommend the orange bus that takes a tour of the city and a truly wonderful restaurant called Los Caracoles (address: Escudellers 14, 08002 Barcelona Tel 933012041) in the old town. One thing to look out for is the shops selling baguettes on Ramblas and other areas we were charged 18 Euros for two small pizzas slices a real rip off. To conclude I would recommend Barcelona as a weekend break to anyone, a really lovely city.

The Gutenberg is called the Gutenberg Apartments. The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. The breakfast sort of sucks but the main problem is that the buffet is located in a small area and is very crowded with people trying to get food but the seating is O.K. As in many European countries, smoking is permitted in the eating area. The area can get a little noisy and one night there was an extremely loud party very near our room. The room we were in was clean and neat but very small and there were no shelves at the sink. I can't comment on any of the other rooms. There are a lot of strange characters hanging around that area but the outside of the Gutenberg is very well lit. If any of you guys decide to deal with a prostitute you had better make sure that person is indeed a female or you might get quite a surprise. I found somebody's stolen wallet with driver's license and photos in front of the Gutenberg and turned it in to the hotel staff so watch out for pickpockets on La Rambla. We had absolotely no trouble and did not feel in danger at any time. My wife and I loved Barcelona and look forward to returning.

This Hotel was extremely central, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were spacious and extremely comfortable.

Ignore any comments you see about this being a seedy or dangerous area,, yes it is down a side alley, but the position is perfect and there are no problems. Thoroughly recommend to others.

Lovely hotel. Very nice, clean rooms. Helpful staff. Location excellent, although have to negotiate a couple of dingy alleyways! Will book this hotel next time I visit Barcelona - hopefully very soon.

The hotel and service at the hotel was very good. It was not situated in the best neighborhood of the city, but right in the center and nonetheless safe. It is perefect for someone planning to save a little money by cooking at the hotel. If you are looking for luxury, try somewhere else.

A very presentable hotel in a cracking position just off the Ramblas, and pleasant staff - unfortunately it can get a little noisy and it was hard to find the first night. I would advise approaching the hotel from the DRASSANES metro station ( the hotel is behind the Multi storey car park next to the station entrance ) as this avoids having to walk down some rather dodgey back alleys.

This hotel is perfectly located for a short stay, having close and easy access to the main areas of interest in Barcelona. The staff were friendly and accomodating and the rooms well equipped and maintained. Breakfast was served between 8am and 10am and though basic was more than satisfactory. I would certainly recommend the hotel to other travellers.

this was great. large rooms and we cooked right at the room all the fresh food that we bought at the market nearby. cool area!

I loved the hotel. Rooms and service were great and we walked everywhere. Area was a bit shady at night but perfectly safe. After all, a drunken sailor or a street walker only adds to the Barcelona experience. We have never felt unsafe there, merely curious :)
